Questions
Here are some common questions about Negatiff Film Photography Lab.
Q. Do you have a shop or darkroom?
A. Yes, we do. We are working in collaboration with Refindclub and sharing a space with them. You can buy some film, merch, used film and digital cameras. We do have a darkroom where we process our films. Please refer to Contact Us section for address.
Q. What formats of film can you handle?
A. We can handle 135, 120, 220 roll films and 4×5 sheet films.
Please contact us separately before you bringing your film for other film formats.
Q. Do you offer printing services?
A. Unfortunately we are not providing traditional darkroom black & white printing services.
Q. Can you process 127, 828, 126, 620 and other formats?
A. Short answer: Yes.
Services are limited for unusual film types. We can develop color film marked “C-41” and almost all black and white films. If you have odd-sized film or can’t figure out which type it is, you can contact us directly with a photo of the film or a description of the label.
Q. Do you accept international orders?
A. Yes, we do!

Q. I’m new to shooting film, do you only take “pro” film shooters?
A. We are happy to take any client who is shooting film whether its your first roll or your 200th. We take pride in showing all our clients the same amount of love and attention regardless of film shooting experience. We love that you want to shoot film and we are here to make your film shots look that much more amazing!
Developing
Q. Do you offer Processing Only?
A. Yes, we offer processing/developing only for roll film and sheets.
Q. Is there an extra charge for pushing or pulling film?
A. Nope. Pushing and pulling is totally free! Make sure you write the number of stops on the rolls of film you’d like pushed or pulled.
Q. Can you process Kodachrome?
A. Sorry, no. And we don’t know of anyone who does ;(
Q. Can you cross-process my slide (E6) film? How does that work?
A. Yes, we can cross-process slide film. This type of film is designed to be viewed as a transparent, positive image through a projector. This requires a different process than C-41, which creates film negatives that are meant to be printed. Nonetheless, slide film can be developed in C-41 chemistry to create a negative. However, since the film isn’t designed to be developed that way, results can get pretty funky and unpredictable. Cross processing typically results in color shifts, as well as boosted saturation and contrast.
Q. Do you offer E6 processing?
A. No. As for today, unfortunately we are not providing E6 film developing due to the very low demand. But we hope that with the returning of Kodak Ektachrome the situation will change and we will offer slide film developing for our clients. However, we can cross process your E6 film in C-41 chemistry. This cross processing produces vivid colors and high saturation and contrast levels.
Q. What type of Chemistry does Negatiff Film Lab use to process and develop film?
A. We are happy and proud to say our processing/developing of C41 and B&W films are done “in-house” , we use Kodak Brand Chemistry for all our Black and White and C41 films processing.
Q. C-41? E-6? ECN-2? Xtol? What is this all about?
A. All these are the names are different chemistry process that are applied to develop different kinds of film. In color films it’s pretty standard, C-41 is used to develop all color negative film, and E-6 is used to develop color slide film.
When it comes to B&W film things get more funky, there are many B&W developers and usually, each one has different characteristics on each film (also each film has a standard developing time for each developer) and that makes things a bit more challenging. We use Kodak D-76 for our developing.
